   The India volunteering program is going to take place in Bangalore. We have four main focuses in India: education, health, women's issues and environment. Students will be divided into these four categories according to their interest. Students in the education group will be working as english or maths tutors at local schools. Students in the health group will be working at local clinics or orphanages. The women's issues and environment groups will deal with various sustainable projects (for example, working on water conservation projects), which can be intertwined to education and health.

     Moreover, students have a great deal of autonomy in determining how they can help the local community through this internship. Students will have opportunities to carry out fundraising projects, for instant, for the local schools and environmental projects. They can also decide to increase environmental awareness through doing presentations in local schools and incorporating this aspect into their tutoring.

     IVI will offer homestay and service options. Students will be paying for the plane tickets to Bangalore, and their cost of living, which includes homestay and food. The plane ticket to India ranges from $800-$1500 depending on when it's bought. 

     This internship program is three weeks long roughly from Aug 29 to Sep 16th. Therefore, this is a great opportunity for the students who want to study abroad in India and to get a taste of India before school starts. It is also a great opportunity for passionate service-oriented students who want to enrich their international service experience. This will be a great experience for all the students who want to make a change!
